One of the most common complication to Server installation can happen in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.

Generally speaking, the user needed to successfully install the PostgreSQL Server on a Client machine needs to belong to the local administrator group.  If this criteria is not met, the installation will likely fail in a Windows Server 2003 / 2008 environment.

We strongly recommend that you do not install the FP2 Server on a Domain Controller, as the FP2 Server Installer requires a Local Administrator login, which is not available on a Domain Controller.
