Property Record Inspections Sub-Tab

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Summary

The 'Inspections Tab' contains Fire Inspection and Alarm Tests Inspection information about the property record.  Note that to see all the data fields listed below, you will need to have purchased and installed the Inspections Module  and Alarm Tests Module.

The Inspections sub-tab has several sections, including a Record List that displays all previous Inspection Rec ords attached to this property,  inspection scheduling, a Building Code designation and optionally, a Record List that displays Alarm Tests Records.

Data Fields

'Building Code Classification' section:

       'Bld. Code Class' editable list:

This Editable List displays the Building Code Classifications for the Property.

       'BC Sub-Class' editable list:

This Editable List displays the Building Code Sub-Classes available for this Building Code Classification.

'Set up Checklist' button (requires Checklist Module):

This button allows you to set up an Inspection Checklist for this property record.  If you have set up a Checklist Template for the Building Code Classification that the property is assigned to, that Checklist will appear automatically.  Otherwise, you will have to create it manually.

If a checklist has not yet been configured for a class, the inspector is able to build one by dragging checklist items from the Master List to the checklist.  If there is an item required that is not on the master list it can be added as the master list is editable. Once it has been set up, the Inspection Checklist for this property will always be the same and will ensure consistent inspections. Over time and if needed (due to property additions, etc.) other items may be added or removed from this checklist.  When any changes are made, you will be asked for an effective date.

'Print New Checklist' button:

This button will print a blank checklist form, based on the template for this property, that may be used to fill out inspection information in the field.

'Periodic Inspection Scheduling' section

The Periodic Inspection Scheduling tools allow you to automate the process of scheduling recurring inspections on a property.  Putting dates and inspection frequencies in this section creates the 'Inspections Due to be Done Report'.

       'Last Inspection Date' date field:

The date that the last inspection was completed on this property.  This Date Field may be re-titled: Last Inspection Due (or to anything you wish),

if you prefer to reschedule your inspections from the date that they are initially scheduled, rather than the date they are actually done.

       'Frequency (in months)' textbox:

The number of months between regularly scheduled inspections.  This field will pre-fill based on the Building Code Class selected.  FP2 will use this                period and the Last Inspection Date to create a Next Inspection Due date.

       'Next Inspection Due':

The date on which the next inspection is due.

'Default Inspector' drop down menu:

This Officer List allows you to set a default inspector for this property.

'Notes' field:

Additional notes about inspections at this property may be added here, though these are general notes and are not specific to the one inspection.  This is a standard FP2 Text Field.

Inspections Sub-Tab:

Clicking on the Add To List Button (Add), or double-clicking a line in the Record List, opens the Inspection List Window, where you may add or edit any inspection records attached to this property.  The results in this list are coloured depending on the circumstance.  If the property being viewed is not a stand alone property, there may be coloured inspection records displayed.  Inspections showing in green have been completed on the 'Secondary Property'.  These records are based the property type these records are attached to.

Alarm Tests Sub-Tab:

Clicking on the Add To List Button (Add), or double-clicking a line in the Record List, opens the Alarm Tests Record Window, where you may add or edit any alarm records to this property.

'Date Range':

You can select a specific date range of inspections to be displayed on the 'Inspection List Window'.
